Navigation and Remote Running Skills
2 November - 4 November 2018
The weekend is suitable for anyone wanting to to get to grips with the skills of fell running and remote trails. The programme has a large dose of 'navigation' wrapped up in all manner of things 'Off-road running'. We'll talk about clothing, shoes, safety, training and nutrition, along with having some fun learning and laughter. It will also equip you for your own adventures into wild terrain.
The NAV4 Adventure tutor team have a vast range of race experience, are highly skilled professional facilitators and coaches. We've been running courses for many years to a wide range of clients. Headed up by Joe Faulkner, you can be assured of a fun, informative and enjoyable weekend.
NAV4 prides itself on quality teaching and all tutor led sessions are delivered on a 4:1 ratio to ensure good learning. The weekend is suitable for all; your fitness, running speed and ambition is unlimited. Indoor sessions are relaxed and informal; we are open to questions and discussion. Come with an open mind, your own questions and a sense of humour.
Mel and the team at Due North Events will arrange the weekend so that all you have to do is turn up with your running gear and have fun whilst learning. The Due North team know Kettlewell and the surrounding areas like the backs of our hands.....especially the Bluebell Inn, so we can provide local knowledge and hopefully answer any questions you may have.

Christmas Prosecco & Ale Hunt
December 2018 - dates TBC
Spend the day running/walking on the fells and trails of the Yorkshire Dales. In groups you will be guided through the Wharfedale area, taking note of particular trig points and key features along the way as these may be crucial clues for your activity later in the day. Lunch will be provided at the hostel or on route for those of you wanting to cover more miles. Back at the hostel, in groups you will get some basic map reading skills and chance to work out some clues. Once the sun sets you will then return to the trails with a head torch and a map, in small groups with a guide to hunt for your prosecco/Ale/Mulled wine/chocolate/mince pie tokens. You will have a time limit to collect as many tokens as you can and there will be extra prizes for the team with the most vouchers, the muddiest team ... and so on! Enjoy your drinks with your evening meal then relax around the cosy log burner with music/games or head into Kettlewell to visit the local pubs.
The run/walk can be adapted to suit your group as the idea is that this is a fun, team activity.
