- Meet 9am at Grassington Institute. We will begin by running the first 25k of the Yorkshire Trod passing Malham Tarn, to Arncliffe, referring to the map and features on the route so that you can practice navigating whilst running. There will be time so stop and ask questions on route. On arriving at Arncliffe we will have lunch in the village hall and spend the afternoon in the hall discussing maps, compasses, recces etc. You’ll be shown some good examples of kit and generally learn all things needed to have a successful day/night on the fells.
- We will then take the mini bus (included in the price) back to Grassington where you either make your way home for the evening or retire to your cosy Hotel in Grassington for the night.
- 9am – ish meet for some theory either indoors or outside depending on what you, as a group would like to go through. Then at 11am we will take the bus to Buckden to start the guided run from Buckden to Grassington taking in Buckden Pike, again this is the Yorkshire Trod route so a great chance to recce and see what’s in store for you on one of the bigger climbs of the Trod challenge. Tea and cake back at Grassington, Q&A.
