A full weekend of running and coaching sessions led by Nicky Spinks Record breaking Fell runner, Mel Steventon and other UKA Run leaders/Coaches on Saturday.
Sunday you will get a chance to practise your new skills on a guided run with the Due North Team. A talk from a coach/physio/nutritionist (topic to be confirmed).
For the beginner group, you will try running on varied terrain, mud, grass, stone tracks etc. Practise up and down hill running and various techniques before a guided group run.
The Intermediate – Advanced group will learn how to tackle more technical terrain, how to train for longer distance events and planning for longer hill days.
We will look at the basics of Map reading and Navigation and running with poles.
Experts are on hand to offer advice. Guided fell/trail runs, optional guided night/head torch run, coaches on hand to give help and advice.
Accommodation in the Kettlewell Hostel, breakfast, lunch and evening meals included.
This weekend is suitable for anyone who would like to improve their running on fell or trail. Suitable for intermediate – advanced runners.
If you are a complete beginner to trail running, this year we are opening up 10-12 places for an Introduction to Trail running as part of this weekend. No previous experience is required.
You will need:
- running clothes for 2 days (there may be 3-5 different sessions over the weekend)
- Waterproof jacket with taped seams
- Waterproof trousers with taped seams
- Fell/trail running shoes
- An extra long sleeved layer (thermal preferred)
- A bumbag/running backpack
- Water bottle/bladder pack
- Head torch if taking part in the night run
- Hat & Gloves
- Casual clothing for free time
For the beginner ‘Introduction’ Course, you may not have all of this kit so please get in touch and we can provide spare kit.

Full Weekend package £295
The Hostel is in the Yorkshire Dales village of Kettlewell, with a local shop and three pubs. All of the running sessions will be in and around Kettlewell with the longer distance runners covering more of the Wharfedale area.
A transfer service from Skipton train/bus station will be available at a small charge for anyone travelling by public transport.
