The Yorkshire Dales National Park is a landscape for everyone, and Summit for Nothing is an activity programme for adults who might not otherwise have the opportunity to do a hill walk in the National Park.
Due North Events are teaming up with The Yorkshire Dales National Park to provide people from under-represented groups with activity days that enable them to access the special qualities of the National Park, and so increase their understanding, enjoyment, health and well-being.
We aim to connect participants with nature through a supported hill walk, teach new outdoor skills, and raise awareness of the accessibility of hill walking in the National Park.
Walks will be in the Wharfedale area and all starting points will be accessible via public transport. We aim to take each participant to a Trig point on walks ranging from 4 – 12 miles. There will be no pressure to reach the Trig point on the day as we will have a team of professional guides leading the walks, so if anyone feels that they have reached their limit, they can be guided back on a shorter route.
